DaimlerChrysler builds first fuel cell-powered police car

The Wayne State University Police Department will operate the first fuel cell-powered police car in the world. Designed and built by DaimlerChrysler Corp., the Mercedes vehicle will be used as a supervisor's vehicle. It will be refueled at NextEnergy's hydrogen fueling station in TechTown. The car also will serve as a learning laboratory for students in the College of Engineering 's Alternative Energy Technology Program.
